This has given people more choice when it comes to web platforms, website builders and tools.

Before we dive in, let’s first look at the programming languages used in platforms.

There are more than 3 programming languages available, however, these three are the most popular and what we use at Adcreators. They are also compatible with a number of website platforms.

PHP

This is a scripting language that is embedded into HTML pages. This language is open source, which means that it is free to use. Often, people use this language to create interesting effects and designs that can be used to enhance your site.

ASP.NET

This programming language is a proprietary Microsoft platform designed for developing web applications. This language is not free but has a lot of basic functions and database interactions that make the programmer’s job easier. It does, however, have to be compiled and converted in order to be used on a website.

JSP (Java Server Pages)

This web development platform also needs to be compiled and converted in order to be used.

There are several more programming languages, however, many people are not familiar with some of the less common languages, making it difficult to find people to maintain your site.

Though there is a learning curve, it is fairly easy to learn. The platform is free.

Weebly

This is one of the easiest web development software available. Along with WordPress, it is one of the most popular platforms used by beginners to web development. Though it is extremely easy to use and well-suited to personal and commercial businesses, only the platform’s basic version is free; premium versions operate on a monthly subscription basis.

One of the most impressive features of Weebly is that you do not need any knowledge of coding languages in order to use it. However, if you do have a coding background, you can choose to edit in HTML/CSS. There are also more than 40 layout designs, including website maps and portfolios.

Mockplus

This all-in-one web prototyping tool can easily be used to create web, mobile and desktop app prototypes with their simple drag-and-drop tool. Mockplus is excellent at keeping the focus on the design rather than on the tool. It is excellent for rapid prototyping as it has a number of ready-made components and icons available. Mockplus also offers a design mode to help quickly reflect design ideas and layout structures for projects.
